(Sacramento) - Six million Jews were murdered during the Holocaust. Many of those who survived, fled Europe to rebuild their lives. Some of those survivors settled in California. Those that remain today, were children when Adolph Hitler and the Nazis rose to power in 1933. The California State Assembly, led by Speaker John A. Pérez (D-Los Angeles) and Speaker-Elect Toni Atkins (D-San Diego) honored survivors from California in a special “Day of Remembrance” ceremony at the State Capitol. Learn about some of their amazing stories of survival in this Assembly Access Video.
